The Legendary Rover Team has been operating as part of the Student Scientific Associationat of Aviators Rzeszów University of Technology since 1975.
Our Legendary Rover Team was established in 2011 on the initiative of two students. We are a group of technical and space enthusiasts, forming an interdepartmental, interdisciplinary team consisting of 70 students studying at the Rzeszów University of Technology. Our main goal is to carry out a research project involving the construction of an analogue of the Mars rover, with a view to competing in international competitions.
The remotely operated vehicle is being developed to explore the “Red Planet” and performs a number of extremely important functions: it analyses the chemical composition of rocks and soil, searches for signs of past or present life, studies the atmosphere and monitors weather conditions. It also transmits detailed data and tests technological solutions. Its main purpose is to support the work of the astronaut. We focus on continuous development and qualification. We attend conferences and training courses to acquire new knowledge and skills. This results in our successes at competitions; each trip is another opportunity to prove ourselves and improve.
In addition to our technical activities, we also actively participate in charitable initiatives and educational and scientific events. We are particularly proud to be able to use our rover analogue as an educational tool and as a form of support for social action by helping, inspiring and sharing knowledge with the next generation of science enthusiasts.
