🚀 Aviation and Space – Smart Specialisation of the Podkarpackie Region ✈️🛰️
The Podkarpackie Voivodeship is a national leader in the aviation and space industry. Thanks to its long-standing traditions, the presence of global companies such as Pratt & Whitney, Safran, and MTU, and strong cooperation between science and industry, the region has earned a reputation as a hub of innovation and advanced technologies. This specialisation includes the production of aircraft engines, rocket components, drones, and the development of space technologies. Dual-use solutions and environmentally friendly technologies – aligned with the goals of the European Green Deal – are also gaining increasing importance.
📢 The informational activities are co-financed by the European Union under the project “Podkarpackie – Smart Region”, Priority FEPK.01 Competitive and Digital Economy, Action FEPK.01.05 Regional Smart Specialisations.
We won this year’s edition of the Anatolian Rover Analogue Challenge! We beat the previous three-time champion Project Scorpio The competition was extremely fierce! 27 teams from 7 countries tried, we succeeded! We scored the highest number of points in each competition! The competition lasted four days (24-27 July) during which we were able to meet great people from different countries. There were some malfunctions, but thanks to the quick and efficient response of the team, they did not affect the final result. A trip like this is a great opportunity to develop young talent!
In total, we won five prizes:
First place of ARC
Judge’s Special Recognition: Operating Category
Winner Challenge to Shine: Material Selection
Winner Challenge to Shine: Science
Winner Challenge to Shine: Driving in Difficult Terrain
We are the best team from Europe at the University Rover Challenge 🌟
We took fifth place in the world in the prestigious University Rover Challenge 2025 competition, which took place in the American state of Utah! 🌍
🛰️ In the overall classification, we scored 351.25 points, achieving excellent results, especially in the scientific mission (95 points) and equipment servicing (71 points). The missions took place at MDRS – Mars Desert Research Station, where high temperatures prevailed and a truly Martian landscape stretched out.
Importantly, we were the highest-ranked team from outside North America, second only to four teams:
🥇 Missouri University of Science and Technology (412.27 points)
🥈 West Virginia University (396.17 points)
🥉 Northeastern University (362.42 points)
🏅 Brigham Young University (356.76 points)
We have had months of intense preparation, hundreds of hours of work and an exciting final in the desert at the Mars Desert Research Station. This experience will remain in our memory for a long time, both as a challenge and a source of great satisfaction.
It is worth noting that other teams also bravely represented Poland in the competition:
🔹 Student Astronautical Club from the Warsaw University of Technology – 12th place (290.15 points)
🔹 KNR Robotics Science Club from the same university – 27th place (208.78 points)
We would like to congratulate all the teams and thank them for their support in developing the engineers of the future.
Thanks to the support of our partner, Rzeszów – the capital of innovation, we can fully focus on preparing for the upcoming URC and ARC competitions, which will take place in the United States and Turkey, for which we have been preparing for the past year. This is a great opportunity for us not only to develop, but also to represent Rzeszów on the international stage 🚀🌍
Thank you for your trust and support!
2 May is the day on which Poles at home and around the world celebrate the Flag Day of the Republic of Poland and the Day of Poles and Poles Abroad – a celebration of unity, identity and national pride.

Last week, we participated in a competition at the Military University of Technology, where we received an award from the Minister of Defence (Ministry of Defence) 🦅 for taking first place in the national pre-selection competition to participate in the ‘Autonomous Robotic Experimental Systems (ARES) MAKEATHON’! 🏆
🚀 In pursuing its ambitious goals, the team can count on the support of experienced industry partners, including POLTRA Sp. z o.o. – 🤖 a supplier of machining tools that helps students take their designs to the next level! 🔧📈
🤝 Such cooperation between industry and academia is an example of synergy that drives the development of Polish technology and builds the competences of future engineers.
We would like to thank all our partners who, together with us, believe in the potential of young talent!
